I am at a point where I feel comfortable modeling any style as well as doing most styles in UI. But something I am missing is a bit of technical art in my portfolio. Therefore I took it upon myself to learn a bit of shaders/material node and blueprinting in Unreal engine.

This was such a blast. I learned how to set up basic AI, create a character controller, draw weapons, ride a mount or let the mount follow you. On top of that I got to work with virtual textures and use them to make the terrain and its assets blend better. Furthermore I also learned how to use cloth simulations and how to properly set up a terrain material that reacts to how it is sculpted! The rock texture will appear automatically if there is a certain angle and grass will only spawn on the grass texture etc.
